Shephard (sculptural Candlestick)

Woodfiring is a traditional ceramic firing method where pieces are placed in a kiln fueled by wood rather than gas or electricity. As the wood burns, ash and flame interact directly with the clay, creating natural glaze effects, color variations, and surface textures that can’t be replicated by other methods. The process is intense and unpredictable, and lasts several days, resulting in truly unique, one-of-a-kind pieces shaped by fire and atmosphere.

All of my candlesticks are hand-pinched and one-of-a-kind. Their shapes vary, with a sometimes rough texture, due to the stoneware I use. They’re designed to fit most standard taper candles. To keep your candle secure, I recommend dripping a bit of melted wax into the holder’s opening before placing the candle in, then let it cool and set.
